The Grooming Ritual

A close study of a primate grooming its forearm, capturing the tongue, hand and closed eye in an intimate moment of natural behaviour. The tight composition concentrates attention on the physical act itself, revealing the dexterity and detail of an everyday grooming ritual. Photographed at Port Lympne in Kent.
