Beneath the Brow

Amber eyes emerge from beneath a heavy brow in this tightly framed primate portrait. Stripped of almost every conventional clue to the animal's form, the photograph becomes a study of gaze, texture and symmetry, with coarse hair radiating around the dark face. Photographed at Port Lympne in Kent.
