The Watcher

A powerful profile portrait of a male lion, his gaze fixed beyond the frame and his golden mane filling the composition. The generous negative space emphasises the direction of his attention while providing a quieter counterpoint to the extraordinary texture and scale of the mane. Photographed at Port Lympne in Kent.
